On Friday 4 February Andrea Jenkyns MP visited college and spoke to our year 13 politics students. Andrea is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Morley and Outwood. During her talk she spoke to students about her role as an MP and answered questions from the class.
In year 12 politics students cover Democracy and Parliament as part of their politics studies and having Andrea come and speak to them provided a great review of previous work.
“Having a local MP visit the A level Politics class really helps students appreciate the constituency work that goes on which underpins representative democracy in the UK. Students have gained an insight into the Conservative Party in 2022 which will help them answer exam questions on UK political parties.”
