Day 1: Tradition Stalls

Welcome to Elliott Hudson Student Union Blog! This week we celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that continue to mould our amazing vibrant community. This week was time for us to celebrate our vibrant community, this week we celebrated our diverse backgrounds. We shared our unique talents and learnt so much from one another. We created a sense of belonging that united us and celebrated our unique stories. Let us recap with different perspectives from different people!

Today marked the beginning of our incredible Culture Week, and what a fantastic start it was! The highlight of the day was the information stalls, where I personally had the chance to learn so much about different countries and their unique traditions. From customs to cuisine, every stall offered a window into the diverse cultures that make our world so rich and vibrant which is honestly so amazing.

The snacks were definitely a highlight. At each stall, there were tasty treats that reflected the flavours of the different countries being represented. From savoury snacks to sweet delicacies, for me it was a delicious journey around the world! I got to try everything from spicy potato crisps to some amazing sweets from Pakistan sweets, and each snack was a little taste of another culture. The food truly brought the experience to life.

What really stood out was how engaged everyone was. It was amazing to see people of different backgrounds stopping by the stalls, asking questions, and getting involved in the activities. Whether it was learning about the food or chatting with stall representatives, everyone seemed genuinely interested in exploring different cultures. It was heartwarming to witness so much curiosity and respect for each other’s backgrounds, creating an atmosphere of unity and understanding which what Elliott Hudson is is all about!

The warmth and friendliness of everyone representing the stalls made the day even more special. Each person was eager to share their culture, welcoming visitors with open arms and offering insights into the traditions and stories behind their displays.
