EHC Student finalists in 2026 Leeds Sport Awards
Elliott Hudson College is proud to announce that two of our students have gained national recognition as finalists at the 2026 Leeds Sports Awards.
Two Elliott Hudson College students were finalists in major categories, with Daniel Ransom shortlisted for Young Sportsperson of the Year 2026 and Oliver Burrows shortlisted for Young Disability Sportsperson of the Year 2026. Both went on to receive “Highly Commended” recognition in their respective categories.
Daniel Ransom has enjoyed a remarkable year in swimming, firmly establishing himself as one of the region’s leading young athletes. His highlights include finishing 5th in the 200m Breaststroke at the Edinburgh International in March 2026, placing 8th in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley at the 2025 LEN European Junior Championships, and winning silver in the 4×100 Medley Relay at the 2025 World Aquatics Junior Championships. He also achieved significant international success in 2025, securing gold medals in both the Mixed 4×100 Medley Relay and the Men’s 4×100 Medley Relay at the European Junior Championships.
Oliver Burrows has also delivered an exceptional set of performances across multiple sports. A gifted multi-discipline athlete and accomplished rower, he recorded personal bests across the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m events during 2025, as well as earning silver medals at the England Athletics National Junior Championships. Alongside his athletics success, Oliver excelled in indoor rowing, winning both the 1-minute and 2000m events at the British Rowing Indoor Championships.
Elliott Hudson College congratulates both students on being finalists at the Leeds Sports Awards and on their continued dedication, talent and success in their sporting careers.
