On Saturday 7 December, the EHC team for LEAP Enterprise, Belting, took part in the December Trade Fair at the Merrion Centre in Leeds. Belting were tasked with selling their products to members of the public, alongside teams from 28 other colleges and sixth forms.

Belting set up their stall in the main atrium of the Merrion Centre, and were selling various belts, bags, and keyrings. The team had the chance to build their communication and public speaking skills through making sales, and effectively used teamwork to be successful on the day.

Judges spent the day scoring each company for their product idea, professionalism, selling skills and visual appeal. The Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Abigail Marshall-Katong, was also in attendance, speaking to the teams and allowing Belting to flex their marketing muscles!

We spoke to Saad from the team, who told us: “We did much better than we expected, and it was really fun to sell products to the public. I learnt a lot.” When asked about meeting the Mayor of Leeds, he said “She was really nice and gave some really good feedback”.
