On Monday 7 February our Careers Advisor Mrs Medlock lead a trip to take 20 students to the Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair at the First Direct Arena. Taking place as part of National Apprenticeship Week, the fair is organised by Leeds City Council’s Employment & Skills Apprenticeship Hub and is the largest apprenticeship recruitment event in the North of England.

The fair had a fantastic line up with exhibitors including Arla Foods, BAM Nuttall, Blacks Solicitors, Health and Social Care Apprenticeships, Jet2, Leeds City College, Leeds College of Building, Philips Hair Academy, The Armed Forces, The Coders Guild, The college of Animal Welfare, Utterberry, West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Building Society, Zenith and many more.

Due to COVID restrictions last year the event took place online, so it was great to see the live event take place this year. We had some great feedback from our students about the trip that gave them the opportunity to talk directly with potential employers and providers about a broad range of apprenticeship opportunities open to them when they leave Elliott Hudson.

“Being able to attend an in-person event this year has been great for our students. So many initial conversations took place between our students and exhibitors which I know will lead to applications and hopefully successful appointments in the coming months.”
