Are you the sort of person that likes to try something new?
Two years ago, a new £1.1 million rowing facility was built at Stourton on the River Aire. The GORSE Academies Trust is at the centre of this exciting sporting opportunity.
In the last year, Elliott Hudson has taken on a full time rowing coach and built a sixth form performance squad. In September, with the move to college’s new premises bringing with it first class land training facilities to match that found at the boathouse, Elliott Hudson students will now have access to a rowing programme that is second to none.
You don’t need to have rowed before. You don’t even need to consider yourself an athlete. You will be starting from scratch just like everyone else. At The GORSE Boat Club, we will gradually and carefully build your technique, fitness and mental strength.
In an exciting partnership with the University of Leeds, GORSE students will receive world class sport science support in areas such as nutrition, biomechanics, psychology and mechanical engineering.
Leeds University is looking to develop local talent so you will get the chance to train alongside Leeds University athletes and maybe join that programme when you graduate. First, just come and have some fun and see if rowing is for you.
If this sounds interesting, come along to the Open Evening on Wednesday 18th October, or Open Morning on Saturday 11th November and meet the coach and athletes as well as Olympian, Paul Bennett. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
