We’re proud to announce the formation of the new Student Union (SU) for the 2025/26 academic year, following a successful and enthusiastic election process involving students across the whole college.

Matipa Chloe Dendamera in Year 13 has been elected as Student Union President after presenting her vision to the entire Year 12 and Year 13 cohort and securing a win through a whole-college vote. Matipa is excited to take on the role and is looking forward to representing the student body and making a positive impact on college life.

The Student Union also elected two Vice Presidents, chosen by the members themselves. Lloyd Beaumont (Y12) and Eldon Takyi (Y13) will support the President in leading the SU and are both enthusiastic about contributing to student representation and enrichment activities.
The Student Union is structured around five dedicated committees, allowing students to get involved in areas they are passionate about:

• Prom Committee
• Social Media Committee
• Charity Committee
• Events Committee
• Student Voice

Throughout the year, the Student Union has planned a range of inclusive and engaging activities, including:

• “Keep It Cozier” – a Pyjama Day in college just before Christmas
• A Clothing Drive for St George’s Crypt
• Yellow Day to raise awareness for mental health
• Iftar during Ramadan
• A Valentine’s Day giveaway

The Student Union is a key enrichment opportunity, giving students the chance to develop leadership skills, represent their peers, and play an active role in shaping college life.
