MindMate Support Team

Who are we and what do we do?
The MindMate Support Team is an early intervention service offering support to students attending Elliott Hudson College. We work with young people up to the age of 19 who may be experiencing difficulties around their emotional wellbeing.
What can we support with?
We aim to support young people as soon as possible after they start to struggle with their emotional wellbeing to try and prevent difficulties becoming worse. We create an individual plan for each young person which could include 1:1 support, groups, workshops or sharing information on other services within your area which could provide support that’s right for you.
How to access MindMate Support Team
To access support via our service please speak to a member of staff at college. The next step would be to complete a consent form for us to meet with a member of your Alliance Team to discuss their concerns and yours, we work closely with college staff to ensure the right support is in place for you. If it is decided that extra support from our team would be helpful, we will get in contact to arrange for you to meet someone to discuss this further.
Need help, advice, or just someone to talk to?
Good mental health refers to our ability to enjoy life and cope with its challenges.
At certain times in our lives events may make it more difficult to cope so we may need extra support, for example, if there are issues at home or leading up to exams.
One in four of us will experience some form of mental health problem, particularly anxiety or depression, at some point in any one year. Mental health problems can affect anyone, but the stigma related to experiencing a problem can often put people off asking for help.
If you are feeling low or are worried about your mental health it is important to ask for help. You may have already tried talking to family or friends, another good place to start is to speak to a member of staff or your GP about how you are feeling. Additionally, there are also lots of other services in Leeds and online resources that can help you.
