Workplace tour: Marsh Commercial
On 26 April, 11 of our year 12 students visited the Leeds office of Marsh Commercial, an insurance company with a network of offices across the country. The trip was organised by our Destinations Manager – World of Work, with Career Ready, an organisation who help prepare young people for the world of work. The tour was organised to give students a first hand experience of the workplace, to increase their understanding of what working in an office enivornment is like.

As part of the trip students were given a tour of the offices and had the opportunity to meet staff from various teams across the business. Students also attended a ‘Success at Interviews’ masterclass and afterwards were split into groups where staff from Marsh worked with them on some practice interview questions.
“Giving our students the opportunity to see a business in action and meet with business professionals was so valuable. For many of our students, this was the first time they had set foot in a workplace such as Marsh, giving them a real-life insight to what it might be like to work for an organisation like theirs once they leave college.” Said Mrs Thomson, Student Destinations Manager (World of Work).
“I believe that the trip to marsh has given me insight into different ways businesses asses you. This gave me more confidence tackling interview questions and made me realise I do have the skills/ knowledge I just need to apply it.” Said William Sylvester, Year 12 student.
We would like to thank the team at Marsh and Career Ready for their time and giving our students the chance to visit the Leeds offices of Marsh.
