Over the past year we have had to make many adjustments to our college experience to keep both students and staff safe during these challenging COVID times. This has unfortunately meant that we have not been able to deliver our usual extensive enrichment programme to our students.
However, this week our new online enrichment programme launches to year 12 students. For the next five weeks we are offering six key activities for our students to take part in including the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Marvel Cinematic Universe Society, Creative Writing and Performance, Burnet News Club, Gorse Gets Health Fitness Sessions and Helping Hands Volunteering.
“I am so excited to start running our new Creative Writing and Performance session. By taking part our students with be developing their creative, writing, research and communications skills as they work towards producing and performing their own monologue, I can’t wait to see the results!”
Miss Bratby, Drama Teacher
“We are so pleased that we can offer some form of enrichment to support our students’ experience at college. Before Easter we were inundated with students signing up for the activities on offer which is fantastic. We are fully aware that employers and universities look for a wide range of soft skills in applicants such as independence, team work, communication and problem solving and by taking part in these enrichment activities it is hoped we can help prepare our students, giving them the confidence for their future.”
